The United States imported 68,640 cubic meters of tropical hardwood lumber in the first five months of 2020 (Source: USDA). This compares to 112,324 m3 in the first five months of 2019. A drop of 38.9%.
Note, this rate of decrease has slowed since the beginning of the year, when tropical hardwood lumber imports were down -47% year-over-year.
