While raw material exports of U.S. hardwood lumber boomed over the last decade, domestic manufacturers of wood furniture continued to lose market share to foreign industries. Here are the facts:

  • Only 11% of the wood furniture sold in the United States in 2018 was made in America.
  • Just ten years ago, this number was 31%.
  • At the end of 2018, sales of U.S. made furniture accounted for just $2.05 Billion of a total $18.62 Billion (Source: Mann, Armistead & Epperson)
